And then I discovered this fantastic megathread at r/MakeupAddiction where the makeup aficionados there listed all the popular foundation shades that matched their skin tones. Somehow I always end up with a shade that's completely wrong for me. Right now-right this second as I'm writing this post-I use Cover FX Total Cover Cream in N100, N110, and N120 (N100 matches the center of my face, N110 usually matches all over depending on the time of year-but sometimes I mix the two together, and then N120 as a contour), Cover FX Cream Concealer in N Deep to highlight, N X-Deep if I.Ä«uying foundation is such a hit or miss thing for me. This video shows the difference between MAC foundation/powder/concealer NC50 and NW45. ![]() But once applied, the shades meld into the skin and are wonderful. Some of these will swatch much darker/lighter than others on this list. Going by swatches is a quick way to fail at foundation matching. I go by what these foundations look like once they've settled onto the skin. I don't go by swatches when I say a foundation is a match. ![]()
